Go ahead and put this one on the dessert table. It was very good, but wow, it was sweet. I could have skipped the pumpkin pie (but I’d already baked it, so we ate it, too!).

68. pesto chicken pizza

Recipe source: none

Using pesto I made (using this recipe) with basil from our very own garden, BP made me this easy pizza. We used store-bought pizza crust because we’ve been out of town and I hadn’t taken the time to make any myself. BP topped the crust with pesto, shredded chicken and mozzarella cheese.

It’s a delicious, quick, easy meal for a summer night.

49. gemelli with sausage, Swiss chard and pine nuts

I know it sounds a little funny, but this was unexpectedly very good. Even BP agreed – but only after he told me he was not expecting a meal that tasted good (before he tasted it). Ha!

The combination of the Italian sausage with the pasta and Parmesan is, obviously, a no-brainer. But it’s the addition of the raisins, pine nuts and chard that made this dish really worth the time.

30. pumpkin ravioli with sage and toasted hazelnuts

It feels great to be back in the kitchen!

BP and I have had a busy couple of weeks. We’ve been celebrating BP’s 30th birthday, going here and there and in general, not staying home to cook! Though it was fun, I’m glad to be home again. A girl can only take so much take-out.

Tonight’s recipe was delicious. In small doses. It was just a little too sweet for BP and I’s liking. It could have almost been dessert it was so sweet – I’ll attribute it to the hazelnuts and lots and lots of butta.

26. chipotle honey roasted peanuts

These little peanuts are addicting. A little spicy, a little sweet, and a good solid crunch makes them perfect for snacking.

Since I couldn’t find chipotle chile powder at the grocery store today, I simply used all regular chili powder in place of the chipotle chile powder. So I guess I actually made chili honey roasted peanuts.
