I know this doesn’t look all that appetizing in the photo, but looks are deceiving. It was delicious. The creamy sage sauce gave the chicken a really good flavor, and even though the portobello mushrooms made the sauce look purple, they were a really nice addition to the meal.

As an added bonus, I used my brand new KitchenAid stand mixer (a Christmas gift from my dad – so sweet!) to mash up the potatoes. This machine is awesome. I was impressed by its ability to turn chicken broth, cream cheese and boiled potatoes into mashed potato goodness within seconds. Amazing.
